I bought a medium red tote with short handles and a few years ago was so impressed with how sturdy it was and how much I could carry that I got another navy tote with the zipper and longer handles. I want to get more colors and sizes now because I always get compliments on the cute bag and they can be used for so many things! I'm getting everyone a monogrammed tote for Christmas this year.
I already have a medium open-top boat and tote and thought a zipper could improve it. I just received mine yesterday, and it is * better* than I hoped for! I thought I would lose volume with the zipper, but it "tents" up, so you can carry just as much as in the open top. Love it, love it, love it.
I have a small boat & tote, long handles, that I use for library books. It fits a small pile of books, keeps everything neat & upright, is easily carried over my shoulder...perfect for my purposes. The design would be improved with an interior and exterior pocket for small items such as a pen, library card, change.
I purchased a medium sized bag in cirrus blue for a gift. It looks like it would be a great size for school, errands, a day out. The cirrus blue is a lovely color and the monogram in the thin script is beautiful. Hopefully the recipient likes it as much as I do:)
I ordered the large zip top in the cirrus blue and am so glad I did. I was looking for something to use as a beach bag as well as a carry on bag. The bag is really sturdy. In fact the canvas is more of a hard material as opposed to soft and malleable. I wasn't sure whether to order the large or XL, but the large is huge. You can easily fit several towels and still have room for more. The only thing that would make this bag perfect is that I wish it had a pocket on the inside. LL Bean should really consider adding that feature. Otherwise, a great bag!!
