I have a couple of the medium zip-top totes and a couple of the large zip-top totes.
The medium is a great size for daily use to tote books, a laptop, the normal contents of my purse, and other odds and ends. I have another that I use to keep my cat's stuff together for when I need to travel with her. I chose the long handles for both of them and they are a nice length for carrying over my shoulder.
The large is bigger than I need on a daily basis but I use one to keep all the odds and ends in the trunk of my car (like jumper cables, a tool kit, etc) from sliding around and it does a great job of keeping everything together neatly. I use the other large one when traveling. It can fit what I need for 3-5 days, depending on how I'm packing.
Both sizes stand up nicely when you set them down, which is handy when you're looking for something and helps keep things somewhat organized. The zip-tops are really handy and they fold down nicely against the insides if you need them out of the way. The color options are nice and the bright colors really pop against the natural canvas.
I agree with others that the option of an internal pocket would be great, but I knew that they didn't have that when I bought them and I'm very happy with the totes thus far.

These bags are incredible. I received one from an ex future mother in law about twelve years ago. I ended up letting it sit outside with lawn equipment piled on top of it, getting moldy and disgusting for about four years. I finally brought it in, covered in black mildew and bleach washed it in an old machine. It came out perfect! No stains and no fading in the red handles! I was blown away. I am so impressed that I am buying several for every member of our family as luggage. I discovered that the short handles will also work as a backpack and is great for toting water play stuff to the river. I am buying the ziptop ones for our luggage. I expect the same high quality performance out of those. You will have these for life! You can't ruin them if you try (and I did try...).
I received my first XL bag as a gift and it's one of the best gifts ever. I use this bag for everything - luggage, shopping, library trips, you name it! It's virtually indestructable. It's a great size, holds everything I need, is comfortable to carry - I don't know what I did before I owned it. I have a smaller one that I take to work and one I use just for library books. If you're looking for Christmas or birthday gifts, you can't go wrong with this bag!!

I bought one awhile back to tote my pet's food and whatnot. Her name is on the bag so they don't lose it. I sold my Mom on one for her art supplies and now I am buying another one for myself to carry various items in to work. Love it!
