I ordered a medium a few months ago to carry all my work related junk. The bag is great! It's bigger than I thought but it's size is perfect. The bag is very durable. I've taken it camping, swimming, Karate, yoga, aerobics, field trips, hospital stays you name it! I just purchased a large red one for all my teacher stuff and a berry for a diaper bag for my daughter I can't wait to get them.
Loved the bag, however I was shocked at how big it was compared to the quick look at gave at the size. I ordered a Xlarge and it's gigantic! Ok, the size they state is correct, however this bag opens up to almost 6 inches wider and is way bigger than I thought. Pay particular attention to the pictures they have of the person holding the bag against them. ( I didn't even see that ) This gives you more accurate impression of how large they are. I am re-ordering a medium. Plenty of room for change of clothes etc, that I am going to use it for. The bag is so sturdy it will probably never wear out! Love it.
I've had the same tote for over 30 years and it's still going strong. And I've used the heck out of it - school books and boating. I used it for years as my work bag for archaeological digs, abusing it with trowels, heavy tools, mud, muck and weather. It's super for food shopping! A neighbor gave me two of her smaller zip-up totebags a couple years ago. I use them as casual summer purses and have received many compliments. Just the right size for a wallet, keys, phone, etc. I machine wash and dry them with no problems. I'm thinking of getting a second larger one just because they're so good for food shopping.
I have moved several times relying on my two large size boat and tote bags. With many trips back and forth across town, these bags have safely carried dishes, canned goods, and stuff from the top of the work bench. The bags still look great, stand upright and open wide for efficient loading, and have zippers that work with ease. I have scrubbed them inside and out with laundry detergent in the bathtub and allowed them to dry outside. The large size is perfect for holding a dish to pass to take to a potluck supper because the bottom is nice and wide so a pan can sit securely and not spill in the car. I have given them as baby shower gifts for conveniently hauling all those "indispensable baby items" new mothers take along. I am a realtor. I always have the large, zipper style tote monogrammed to give as a closing gift. Then with a wink and a chuckle, I explain how to move practically the whole household using the canvas bag! My clients love personal touch of their name on their boat and tote bag.
