Love these shirts!
PostedNovember 11, 2015
I've come to the point I wear only LL Bean shirts for workdays or dress-up.
What do I like about them?
1) Unpacking them is a delight. No pins, easy to open up and not worry about concealed (pin) weapons.
2) The shirts look crisp all day long but don't feel stiff. In fact, the cotton material is a bit thick, but breathes well.
3) They're durable, and last through many washes.
4) Serendipity: I bought this in Burnt Orange on impulse. Every day I wear this shirt, I get several compliments on the color--and I'm a pretty low-key guy.
5) Great value. You can buy dress shirts for less, but the comfort and looks just aren't the same.
6) Great service: I once had a cuff pull off when I was putting on one of these shirts that I'd had several months, it just hadn't been stitched well. I called up LL Bean and had a replacement in a few days.

Frayed/Wears quickly

As some others have noted, these shirts -- some of them, anyway, and certainly some I've bought -- have a tendency to suddenly have fabric fray or otherwise fail. The first shirt to do this was a blue long-sleeve shirt, and I simply threw it away, assuming it was a fluke. Now a second shirt has suddenly developed a hole in the upper sleeve; can't wear that one to work again. This one will be returned to try out Bean's warranty.
I don't remember how long I've had this shirt, but it has not been heavily used. It's in with a bunch of other Oxford shirts that are worn every 2 or 3 weeks -- the shirt otherwise looks almost new.
I see from other comments that this issue may have been addressed in newer shirts. Based on the shirts I have, though, these are certainly not worth $45.

Love this shirt, will only purchase wrinkle free shirts from now on! Love the muted color, fits was perfectly after I exchanged for the right size, (my fault) I wish they had more colors, a go to shirt for most all occasions! Love the quality and the fit! LL Bean did it again!

Great shirt, but need more colors!
PostedNovember 6, 2015
It is so nice to find a shirt that has quality and uses actual sleeve lengths! Every time I buy a dress shirt with the old 34/35 length it's always 34 no matter what! I need and want a 35, not one that pretends to be! With this shirt I'm so happy to be able to order a 35" sleeve length that really is 35"!
The shirt itself is very well made and high quality and I'm complemented on them quite often. Hang it right out of the dryer and it won't need to be iron!
What LL Bean needs to do now is add some more colors, like darker blues and maybe a tan/cream color.
