I would rate these shirts as the best oxford cloth shirts that I've owned and I've been wearing oxford cloth shirts a long time. In short, I like the slightly heavier fabric, they easily iron, and they feel as if they have been starched. The only changes I would make are to add some additional colors. In particular, I would like a University Stripe dark khaki or tan, a University Stripe gray, and a solid gray. Bringing back the University Stripe burgundy would also be nice.
The reason these are wrinkle-free is that the manufacturer appears to have perfected permanent starch. I, too, think the 'French blue' has changed. I like the older, softer version. Since the old style lasted so long, I would prefer the old quality to the new one, even at a somewhat higher cost.
