I am 5'7", 130 lbs. I have bought numerous oxford "trim fit" llbean shirts. I bought two slim fits, which is better fittting for the chest, however the shirt length is too short, about 28". This is 2-3" less than a normal shirt designed to be tucked in. Was this designed to be untucked? I returned both.

Billowy fit, colors ran on first wash

The 'traditional fit' is billowy, with enormous sleeves both in length and circumference. Add to that my university stripe shirt had blotches from running colors on the first wash (in cold water), and I'm very disappointed. Will be returning all three that I bought and hoping for the best with a different fit.

Quality is gone

At one time probably 75% of the items in my closet came from LL Bean but the past couple years I am returning more than I keep. This shirt continues the trend. Even though it is sold as the classic oxford shirt, the fabric is a fraction of the thickness of the "same" shirts bought just a year or two ago. It is like they are racing to the bottom with quality. Too bad because I like the raven blue color but refuse to support the cheapening of the products.
I have purchased these shirts for years. The last two times I have ordered them I noticed a significant decline in quality, including much thinner material. I have stayed with them through increasing prices without a qualm, as the quality was worth it, but not any more. The lifetime guarantee is meaningless to me if the quality is similar to what I can get at a discount box store. Unfortunately this decline matches what I am seeing across the board for LL Bean clothing.
