I have to agree with some of the posts below. I, too, am having trouble with fraying collars on the Oxfords. In the past I have sworn by these shirts. No more. Extremely disappointing. I literally wear nothing but LL Bean. Have one on now typing this. Darn ...
I am hoping that LLBean listens and fixes the problem. I have also have used these shirts for 15+ years. I would also ask why they no longer offer other colors in the university stripe fabric.
COPY AS FOLLOWS: I have worn only these shirts for the past 15 years, I currently have more than 40 hanging in my closet. For years they have been absolutely the best shirt anywhere !!
Over the past 2 - 3 years the weight of the fabric has gotten much lighter, and the sizing of the shirts has gotten just a little bit smaller too.
Although the price has increased over the past few years, that was fine as long as they kept the heavy weight fabric and durability of the shirts, however that is slowly going away and I'm not sure how long I will continue to buy these shirts...as soon as I locate a manufacturer that provides the heavier fabric I will definitely switch to those. I hope LL Beans reconsiders their current product and brings back the classic shirts at any cost !!

I have several shirts that, like others have noticed, separate along the permanent press creases as if the fabric is too weak. Some shirts developed holes under the collar button, the area where the sleeve meets the cuff, and at the elbow area.
