I've got several of the LLBean Oxford Shirts, both short sleeve and long. As these shirts have been treated for wrinkle resistance, I especially love the way that they keep their shape right out of the dryer. Anything that keeps me from using an iron is great. And my wife says that these shirts look great with my jeans, as well!
These shirts can be warn directly from the drier and continue looking great several times. They are great for travel when you might want to wear them once for formal, then again for a casual dinner, then on the way home on the airlines. They just keep looking great.
I always bought Ralph Lauren Polo dress shirts. Heavy on the starch and try not to wrinkle it while putting it on. These shirts are awesome. No starch needed and if i wasn't so fussy I really wouldn't need to iron them at all. They seem to wear very well. I have 7 of them and am getting more.
This shirt looks great and has the classic oxford pattern. The fabric is a little stiff, but that is probably due to the wrinkle-resistant treatment. The fabric does soften a bit after repeated washings. The shirt has excellent wrinkle-resistant properties and does not require touch-up ironing after being removed from the dryer. It looks great when paired with chinos. The fabric of this shirt wouldn't look right with a suit.
The shirt fits well across the shoulders and chest, but is a bit billowy in the back. This is to be expected when you aren't buying a bespoke shirt. The only negatives really come from the nature of the wrinkle-resistant fabric - i.e. - the shirt is a bit stiff and doesn't "breathe" as well as must-iron cotton oxford. If you are willing to live with this, and most people are, this is a great shirt for the money.
