While the material quality is identical to that of the solid color oxford shirts I have from L.L. Bean, the colors are just so dreary, drab and depressing. I was stunned by how washed out the colors are. They look like they were soaked for an extended period of time in chlorine bleach, then washed in yet more bleach. While I love my solid color LLB oxford shirts, my strong allegience to the L.L.Bean product line was simply insufficient reason to keep them, so they were promptly returned for solid color shirts. I would gladly buy striped shirts from L.L. Bean if they offer them in some vibrant colors that are visually appealing. I suspect a lot of other people would as well. Perhaps the LLB product development staff will review these evaluations and rethink some of their product offering decisions as a result."
I purchased this shirt for my husband back in January of 2009. After 9 monthes of wear it looks as good as when first purchased. It has kept its clean crisp appearance even while living out of a suitcase! I also love the sizing as it is broad enough in the shoulders and long enough in the sleeves.
This is pretty much the only shirt I wear. The oxford cloth is a little heavier than most other brands and I like that. They last, and they look good. I wouldn't be replacing them now if I wasn't always rubbing my elbow (left, the right elbow is fine) on my desk. I wish they sold replacement left sleeves - just kidding.
