I purchased this blanket for both my sons. The blankets are incredibly warm and nice looking. They're a little itchy for the boys, but for a wool blanket, not bad at all. My husband and I have a wool blanket from another manufacturer and it's incredibly itchy.
In the fall the "couch blanket" my husband and I huddle under became too light. So I ordered the twin wool blanket. I was surprised to find the multicolored plaid quite beautiful and yes, it is surprisingly soft. I am happy that it is warm but not too heavy. Perfect.
Great blanket! We live in California and needed a warmer blanket for the winter and this blanket is perfect. So far it washes well but it does have a bit of a "wool" odor when it comes out of the dryer. It doesn't last long though. I buy all of out blankets from LL Bean's!
I bought a red plaid Bean wool blanket 20 years ago and it's still in great condition. Bought the foggy blue and sage checked blankets on sale in October. They are slightly thinner than the old blanket, but still plenty warm. The foggy blue blanket is especially beautiful and goes perfectly with the light blue/cream/light green color scheme in our guest bedroom. We are using the sage checked blanket in our bedroom, which has a sage/tan/burgundy/brown theme. The blanket looks good because it has a lot of tan in it, but I wish the sage were more noticeably green. In low light it almost looks black. Haven't washed the blankets yet so I don't know how well they'll hold up, but they are warm and an excellent value considering how pricey wool blankets are these days. I hope LL Bean sells these forever.
