I have three of these blankets. They wash perfectly, which is much more convenient than blankets that need to be dry cleaned (and no harsh chemicals). Any slight wool smell they might have (only one did - the king size), dissipated once the blanket was completely dry. If I did not own these, I would buy them again.
This wool blanket has been a wonderful answer to this winter's "polar vortex." The blanket is soft and heavy enough to give the snuggled in feeling when you crawl into bed. It's adequate in size for our queen bed - not skimpy like some blankets I've had in the past. We'll have to see how it holds up in the wash.
I wanted a light-weight washable wool blanket and that's just what I got! I layer it with the LLBean Textured Cotton Plaid Blanket. Both together have kept me warm during this winter.
I did not follow instructions from the website on how to wash this blanket. I took my chances and I washed it on gentle in my home front-loading washer (it says to use a commercial size) and then dried it on low in my home front-loading dryer and it came out the same way it went in except it's a little softer.
Note- I am not saying to not follow the instructions on care. I'm just talking about my experience and what I choose to do.
It all started when I bought some wool socks. This year I decided it was time to get a wool blanket and finally decided to buy Bean's washable wool blanket. I really liked that the size was a queen not full/queen like some others offer. The blanket hangs enough on both sides of the bed so we both get enough coverage. It is warm and I am enjoying it a lot. I have not washed it yet but I am confident it will wash and dry great.
