This is the second washable wool plaid blanket that we bought - the colors are awesome, the weight is great for Northeast winters, and the blanket washes and dries nicely with no pilling or "boiled wool" smell. A wonderful choice for the main house, guest room, or camp.
This is a beautiful blanket - very soft but warm. Not a "prickly" wool - got immediate kitty approval from my cats. We look forward to staying warm this winter under it.
My wife ad I bought one of these blankets about two years ago and have washed it twice. The first time everything was fine, but this last time the white squares were puffy and larger than the other squares and the blanket looks kind of weird. Other than that it has been a great blanket. We live in northern California and with flannel sheets it's about all we need in the winter.
We use L.L. Bean's Ultrasoft Cotton Comforter year round, but found that it wasn't warm enough on cold winter nights here in the Mojave Desert. We wanted to add more warmth without a lot more weight. We chose the Foggy Blue washable wool blanket and are quite happy with our choice. When teamed with the cotton comforter and flannel sheets, it kept us very warm this past, particularly cold, winter. I have washed the blanket once at home in our front-loader, and it still looks great. When wet, it did, as expected, stink like wet wool, freaking out one of my coonhounds, but, here in the desert, it dried completely when I set it outside, and once dry, no longer smelled. The colors remain rich and warm. It's a great blanket. I highly recommend it.
