The fit of these pants are very good. However, the pair I bought in 2005 were less expensive and of a thicker fabric than the ones that arrived in June 2009. Just a bit of a surprise. Fingers crossed that these new pants are as durable.
Ordered Chinos because previous jeans and shorts fit well. Very disappointed in chinos - while same size as other items, could not button at waist. Evidently no standard size fit across all pants items. Also, requested length was incorrect - too long. Now the trouble and expense of shipping back.
The dress chinos were an excellent choice for me. The cloth is very light and holds a crease will in hot weather. Seams were tight with no loose threads. Tailoring was excellent and a true 40 inch waist. Spare button included but I do not care for close buttons on both rear pockets. Neat "extra pocket" inside that keeps change secure, a nice feature
