I have a couple of pairs of classic Double L Chinos and I love them for casual wear. Saw these Dress Chinos on the website and hoped they would be perfect for wearing to the office. I was dissapointed with the quality of the material. It's more course than I expect for office attire. I'd say the main difference between these and classic Chinos is they are less comfortable. Do not feel they are more professional looking or feeling. In the future I will just go with Classic Double L Chinos.
I have owned pairs of LL Bean dress chinos for more than 12 years. They are still as good as they were when I first got them. Recently returned from a sixteen day Rhine River cruise, took nothing but those pants. No laundry facilities on the boat so I wore those trousers as many as three times during the cruise and they were still holding their crease, virtually unwrinkled, at the end. And, returned to the states on an eleven hour flight in a pair that had been worn, and they were in excellent shape when I got off the plane. Enough said!
I've only had them for a few weeks, so I can not comment on their wear, but these are comfortable, nice-fitting pants. I bought a pair in black and a pair in blue. Both pair fit the exact same way... something that should happen, but isn't always the case. I've washed both, and they come out of the dryer still creased and almost wrinkle-free. Nice deep pockets. I got the classic fit, and the "rise" is adequate... not always the case in a classic fit. I'm thinking about buying a pair in another color.
My husband has been wearing the dress khakis to work for years. We swear by them. Just put them in the washer, dry 'em and wear 'em! The selection of colors go everywhere and anywhere. Worn with a sweater, vest , polo shirt or blazer they always look great. Thanks, gang!
