This is a very nice turtleneck, but it is too short and will not stay tucked in. Like many other reviewers (LL Bean, please read these), I find that they shrink one inch in length during the first washing (cold water, no dryer), and then keep shrinking after subsequent washings. I have bought many of the regular turtlenecks with the knitted cuffs over the years, and decided to try this pima cotton turtleneck to see if maybe it would not have the same shrinkage problem. Alas, it does. Bean, many of your customers are not teenagers; we do not want our midriffs showing. I am a retired teacher, and I would find my turtleneck untucking if I reached up to write something on the whiteboard...especially with pant waists getting lower. Ditto when I sit down; it comes untucked in back. Please please please provide an alternative in a longer length or that doesn't shrink. Otherwise the shirt is excellent; that's why I hate to give them up. Well-made, good fit except for the length, and nice colors this year.
Love LL Bean clothing , however this top SHRINKS! No matter how I wash/ dry it... Tried it twice with two separate orders, I thought one was a manufacturing error. Ordered two more and they are WAY too short in the sleeve length and body length. I am 5' 9" but short waisted. 143 lbs. For reference. The med. Is what I always purchase at LL Bean. No tall sizes available... Even though I never need to buy talls elsewhere. Sad because the quality is great! EXTREMELY disappointed as the shirt bunches up at the waist and comes untucked.. Like a "belly shirt! EEKKKK????? Not going to try this again... And I dislike the process of packaging and returning for my refund... Will donate to a person who is under 5'4"! Please fix this problem LL Bean... These were fine two years ago! My winter layering go to top... Not now! :-(((( Have spent $$$$ of money at LL bean.... Think I need to shop elsewhere unless this is changed... 4 mock necks and a regular white long sleeve I can't use.... Looks like a 3/4 sleeve after laundering.. Far too cold for Vt. Winters!!!!!!!! Totally find returning a big hassle!
This XS Misses in black is my wardrobe workhorse-paired with v-necks, under a crewneck or solo, it stays silky, neck scrunches or folds. Best part is the length hits low end of jeans/trousers pocket, so hides all those sins. At 5 foot 3, 110 pounds, it's just the right fit. Get one in every color!
I have purchased several pima cotton turtlenecks in the past and decided to replace some turtlenecks this year with these because the colors stay true, the fit is great and the quality is consistently excellent. I've also purchased the mock turtlenecks and long and short sleeve tees because of the same fine quality.
