I was delighted with the cotton "feel" that seemed to justify the high price-------however I was disappointed to note the lack of cuffs at the wrists, which I feel is essential in cold weather. So, I will be returning the pima turtles [and have already ordered 2 replacement turtles with cuffs ]
NOTE: the cuff info is not listed in the text in catalogs. ALSO Zip pockets in princess seams of " fitness fleece full zip jackets " is not in text [only evident in computer " blow-up "]
When I read reviews by customers who think the pima cotton fabric is either "too thin" or "not warm enough", I have to smile. LLBean's pima turtlenecks are perfect by themselves in milder climates, and in colder areas they work wonderfully under layers; if they were any "thicker", "beefier" or "warmer", they'd lose me as a customer - and believe me, I'm a good one! If a customer read the description of the fabric, they'd understand that pima cotton is fine, soft and smooth; apparently Bean needs to use bold type to get their point across. I've never worn a more comfortable turtleneck, T-shirt or tank of any type, no matter the price. In my opinion, L.L.Bean's pima cotton tops are the best on the market, and I'll never choose anything other than L.L.Bean pima cotton to wear under layers during our high desert winters!
Love the quality and price of the turtleneck, but at 5'9", this shirt is too short in the sleeves and torso for me. I wish there was a tall version as there are in other LLBean clothing. Please consider making a taller version of this turtleneck, I would be willing to pay a bit more for a decent fit. In short, I would only recommend this shirt if one is of average height or shorter.
