I still give this item 4 stars due to the soft pima cotton (which is better than any other retailers I have tried) & neck style, but would be 2-3 stars in other ways. Mind you I would never have even tried others if Bean had kept the consistent sizing and quality from years ago. I have literally hundreds of pima tees (been buying for over 20 years) in every style made. I have ones from 10 years ago I still wear.
What has happened in the last few years? There is now excessive shrinkage! I love the all-cotton, and don't even like really long tees, but these become unwearable; you needed to make longer to allow for this. They only shrink in length, not width so going up a size doens't help. Also the cut changes every year (I've remained the exact same size but some years take a med, though they are always too wide then, and some a small, though sometimes they are then too tight in the upper arm or across neck or shoulders). I am 5'5 1/2 and 126 pounds (same since I started buying form Bean). I used to be able to count on size small tees and size 10 (or Medium) pants. Now that rarely works. I've also tried the 'bean tees' but same problem (shrink in length excessively but not width). Please please please go back to your former high-quality & consistency. I used to buy all my clothes at Bean (also for my husband) but am increasingly frustrated. Great customer service but tired of having to return so much.
I ordered a "true blue" turtleneck, based on what I perceive "blue" to be. The shirt that I received, in a package labeled "true blue", appears to me to be closer to turquoise. My husband, who doesn't particularly discriminate among colors, without prompting from me identified the color of this shirt as "turquoise". I wonder if the package was mislabeled. The shirt itself is OK, fabric and construction seem to be decent quality.
