Perfect L fit with length and not too tight around the neck; virtually invisible neck seam. The best part is the fabric; I hope LLBean starts offering lingerie in this fabric, and scarves, and anything else that touches the skin. Looks good after washer-dryer. I'm in love : ) Donating all other brands of turtlenecks to charities this week.
I have been buying LL Bean Pima turtlenecks for years and continue to be pleased with the quality and workmanship; the fabric is soft and silky, and the turtleneck works well with both casual and dressier clothes. The raisin brown color is a nice addition to the palette, and the black retains its color even after many washes. As some other reviewers have noted, the turtleneck needs to be slightly longer, although it still works well for me; with this improvement I would be able to give a rating of 5 stars instead of 4.
I always like LLBean merchandise, but this turtleneck is especially comfortable and fits perfectly. The extra small is not too tight and I love the feel of the pima cotton, even more than the regular cotton. I bought the lavender and am planning to get the yellow as soon as I get more coupons.
I have stopped buying LL Bean shirts: turtlenecks and crewnecks, because they are way too short and will not stay tucked in. They are also inconsistent in length; in some cases, a Small is shorter than an Extra Small. I always wash in cold water and never use a dryer, but the shirts shrink in length anyhow. Please, LL Bean, listen to the many, many customers who complain that the shirts are too short!
