I love being able to read other's reviews of products before making a purchase, but I rarely, if ever, comment myself. However, the turtleneck I ordered was extremely disappointing. The fabric is very thin - not the sturdy, warm fabric I had expected. Worse still was the fact that the stitching on the left sleeve unraveled after the first day of wear. This is the stitching where the cuff is folded over and held in place, so of course it meant that I needed to hand sew the cuff back into place. Very flimsy.
Even before washing, LL Bean has sleeves that are too short on women's turtlenecks. I like the colors. I like the hemmed sleeves because the ribbed sleeves with a heavier seam hurts my wrists.
Time to replace 3 worn old turtlenecks and was glad to find these on sale. Fabric is a bit thin, but the length is good and so far they wash well. BUT, as Bean's has done recently, the colors available for us folks who wear Women's sizes are only a few compared to smaller sizes. We like a range of colors too, you know! What's worse, though, is I wanted a few mock turtlenecks or stand-up necks, but, look, here it is the middle of November and THERE ARE NONE available in Women's sizes!
LOVE this in purple color. Fits great, soft, comfy, wears well, washes well, just the right weight. I got several compliments the first time I wore it. LOVE this shirt!
