The fabric is a definite step up from the basic cotton turtleneck. It's fine enough to wear with church clothes. It does run a bit small, with the sleeves shrinking a bit, so I'd get a size up, if I were you.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, a wardrobe must have
The pima cotton creates a dressier touch to this turtleneck. I have worn these for years, and always rely on the quality, fit and style. I especially like the easier neck fit, and the hemmed sleeves (not tight cuffs).
Pulling on the neck and cuffs of turtlenecks, my husband gave me a peculiar look. I always pulled on the tightening collar and cuffs. But, not with LL Bean's Pima Cotton Turtlenecks! Slip the turtleneck over the head, give one adjusting tug on the collar and forget about it. I love it! So many manufacturers use spandex that shrinks and pulls away from the cotton fibers. LL Bean's 100% cotton turtlenecks remain soft through years of use. The cotton does shrink with laundering. Even though it stretches without binding, I do prefer buying a size larger than I need, especially for arm length shrinkage. These turtlenecks fit great under shirts, pullovers and sweaters.
