I love the turtleneck, its just I have long arms and the size I order first they were to short for my arms. So I sent the turtlenecks back for a large size hoping this will solve my problem.
I have always opted for the cheaper, all-cotton turtlenecks, but they continue to shrink over time. The sleeves and body end up too short and come untucked. I do not like the cuffs on them, either, especially when the sleeves get shorter. So I decided to spend almost twice as much money on the pima turtlenecks (I got 3 to match sweaters) and so far, am quite happy. I've only washed them once, but I used cold/cold on the gentle cycle (I do not like having to be so attentive to the garments' requirements) to minimize shrinkage, since that was a major complaint of the all-cotton turtlenecks. They are softer and I like the less-stiff, but still standing necks. The cut is appropriate (I am a size small, not an extra small and not a medium) and not too tight on my upper arms. The seam falls on the shoulder where it should, keeping the sleeve length right. The length is good for tucking (without coming out) or leaving it out (without hanging too low). I would definitely recommend this turtleneck over the all-cotton turtleneck.
Bought this color aqua/turquoise to match a sweater and it goes perfect with it. Love LL Bean turtlenecks. They are nice quality cotton and very comfortable.
