The manufacturer has updated this comforter. The old version had a yellow cover, and was of inferior quality. The new version has an off-white cover, and is wonderful. I had ordered two of them in "warm", and ended up with mixed stock; they accidentally sent me one old one (yellow), and one new one (off-white). The new stock and old stock look nothing alike. Also, the new version of this comforter is far superior, fluffy, and warm. The old version is yellow, flat, and skimpy. This is the lightest version of goose down comforters that LLBean sells, but I can assure you that it's not light in warmth. I am one of those people who is always cold, but I am not cold with this. It feels and looks more like a medium warmth comforter....as long as you get the "new" version. So if you order one, and end up with one that has a yellow cover, return it and tell them you want one of the new stock instead. Again, there is a huge difference between the two.
Very happy with the comforter. But, since this duvet is a very rich cream color it wouldn't work under a white duvet. This wasn't a problem for us, but it is something I didn't think about when ordering.
We bought this comforter because the description said it was the lightest down comforter LLBean offered, but it turned out to be way too warm for us. Even though it was comfortable for a little while, within an hour we'd be too sweaty to use the comforter. It's really good quality, it's just too warm. I would recommend it if you live in a very cold place with not too much heat (since the comforter provides that for you).
