I recently purchased these slip covers for our sofa and love seat, hoping to improve the appearance of chewed fabric by our zealous cat.
At first the extra fabric, especially on the sofa, was off-putting and sloppy, and we wondered whether we would be able to live with the slip covers. Then, putting into action the suggestion of a reviewer to use dowels and rolled up magazines in the sides of the cushions, both pieces of furniture were greatly improved and now closely resemble the LL Bean catalog,
The color is vibrant and the fabric is particularly comfortable in hot weather. My suggestion to anyone purchasing these it to try the dowel idea because it will make the difference between easily maintained smoothness with a shabby chic appeal, and plain old sloppiness that looks like you over-estimated the size of your furniture. In comparing these slip covers to others available, these are a better option.
Package came within a week. It is a good sturdy fabric and I steamed wrinkles out after I put it on the sofa. The piping gives it a more finished look, and given the pricey alternative of custom slipcovers, this was a good purchase. I bought the small sofa size in light khaki for my 88" by 37" by 30"(height) sofa.
We like the look of this slipcover, although even the small is a little long in length for our couch so where the arm covers meet the seat, there is a dip and the piping doesn't flow in an even line. Overall it has much improved the appearance of our couch. It has been washed once and actually was much less wrinkled after washing than before. After dealing with it constantly coming untucked for weeks, I finally rolled old magazines wrapped with rubber bands around a long 5/8" dowel for the back and shorter ones for the sides and now it stays perfectly in place. We also ordered the matching khaki pillows and are using those along with other pillows across the back. We are really happy with our "new"couch look.
We own a condo in Florida for over 20 years and have purchased four slipcovers during this time for for a large sofa from LLBean. The denim large sofa one we bought was a disappointment. It wrinkled and the housekeeping staff overseeing our condo were not happy with it. We have gone back to using a solid dark blue one from LLBean and would love to buy another, but sadly, don't see it anymore. It washed well and didn't need ironing at all. The denim lost its appeal after two washings. Please LLBean bring back the large sofa cover you had several years ago....no piping...solid color and just looked good with little care. Thank you!
