I purchased the bag in black today to accommodate my items (wallet, c-phone, keys, pen, small cosmetic bag, lunch bag, laptop, and a large, heavy PhD text book). I am amazed how roomy the bag is and how it accommodates each “compartment” and keeps the items safe with 2 separate zippers (the mid-section, which I use for my lunch bag, and the main bag opening), and 2 velcro straps to secure my c-phone and wallet. This bag is everything a professional woman needs to travel to work and to carry additional items such as a laptop and a book. I highly recommend this bag.
I received this large tote yesterday and am very pleased. It's perfect for what I need. I telework, and sometimes work out of a Starbuck's, and wanted a bag to hold my laptop, power cord, mouse, headset, iPad mini, and a few work files. This is perfect. I have my laptop in its neoprene sleeve on one side of the center zipper pocket. In the center pocket is my power cord, mouse, headset. On the other side a spiral notebook and some file folders. My Zip drive fits into one of the organizer pockets. I love the high quality leather, timeless style. It stands up nice and everything is easily accessible, unlike a backpack with too many zippered pockets. Very professional. Only thing missing are protective "feet" on the bottom. I may take to a shoe repair to have some put on. I'm saving up for the smaller version for my purse.
I love this purse. It is just a perfect size with the interior compartments being well proportioned. The straps are just a little short for slinging over the shoulder with a coat on but should be fine in the summer. But it fits comfortable on the arm and sits well for easy access to the interior. Over all extremely happy.
I've coveted this bag for a long time and finally decided to splurge with the holi-day deal and coupon. Love everything about this bag, but I'm evaluating if I want to keep it or not. The bag might be too large for some. I think the large bag is perfect for a work bag (computer/paperwork etc), but is likely too big for an every day purse. On the flip side to that LL offers this bag in a smaller size, which I also purchased, but found it to be too small. I know I'm starting to sound like Goldilocks over here. My overall assessment of the two bags is that the quality is great (of course it is, it's L.L. Bean!), but I wish it came in a medium size. When you place the small bag inside the large bag it really shows you the dramatic difference between the two.
