This is the exact bag I have been searching for. It is perfect for my needs. The leather is thick and beautiful and looks as though it will serve me for many years to come. I was afraid it would be to small, but its actually the perfect size for every day use. Very happy with purchase.
I recently bought this bag in tapestry and it is beautiful, but as many reviewers wrote, the handles really are too short to fit over a lightweight fall jacket over the shoulder without being awkward. Though I bought it on sale at an excellent price, it's going back.

Prosa flawed design
This bag has great potential if only something could be done about the design of the inside zippered compartment. The material is very flimsy and the comparment flops down into the bag, getting in the way and preventing you from being able to easily reach into the bag and get items out of it. This is very irritating and I've carried the bag very little because of this. I tried putting a piece of cardboard into the zipper compartment to prevent it from flopping down, but that doesn't work either. LL Bean just needs to make the zipper compartment out of a better and stiffer material. I regret not sending this back. I paid too much to not be able to use it!

I am a handbag fanatic and this is one of the best bags I have ever carried. You can't go wrong with this one. It has organization, durability and beauty. The handles are long enough to go over the shoulder if you coose to carry it that way. It is the perfect size and would be great for a gift for anyone. I am thinking about getting another color.
