Ordered the brown small bag. Was delivered quickly. Very nice, plain bag. Shoulder strap is big enough to go over my shoulder, but I am a small woman. Like that it zippers completely. Hope it holds up well. Was a little disappointed the bag is made in China.
Bought this bag in black because it was something I was looking for. Very disappointed in the construction of the bag. A day after I bought this bag, the outer zipper split! It seems the inner zippers are much stronger than the outer one. The leather is very stiff and the straps are too short and hard to get over bulky winter coat or lighter jacket. Really cannot hold 2 pairs of glasses which I need, wallet, keys and cosmetic bag. Bag is heavy after you put your things in. Needless to say, I will be returning this to LL Bean. They should make the leather more supple instead of so stiff and a little roomier in the inside plus better quality zippers.
This review is for the regular sized Town and Field Tote. I bought this tote in brown for my daughter when she was in college several years ago. It suited her needs then, is still in great condition, and she continues to use it. I bought one for myself in a tapestry fabric that was available a few years ago when it was on sale. It is still in fine condition, but I really wanted a leather tote. When this was on sale, and I saw it in red, I splurged. It is a well-made tote. I appreciate the organization that is possible with the many inner pockets. The size is neither too big nor too small; it allows me to carry everything I need for work. While the handles are not super long, I am able to carry this on my shoulder. The leather is supple, but the tote is able to stand upright on its own...and the red color is gorgeous. Based on past experience, I expect this to last for many years.
This is a beautiful bag-quality leather, classic styling, nicely designed interior. It's roomy enough and strong enough for a lap top, notebook, book, lunch. But I am returning because I found the straps too short for my taste. I want a bag I can carry on my shoulder.
