I love this bag in cordovan. But unfortunately it was much too large for a petite woman like me. It would be wonderful if it was just made smaller a little bit. But otherwise, I strongly recommend this tote. Gee, I wish I was taller! Please have a tote for men too!
Today, the cordovan tote arrived and I am so impressed with the size and workmanship of this tote. Nicely lined, lots of pockets, and I will be using this tote as an overnight bag, if needed, for short trips. There is a ton of well organized space as there are pockets for everything. I really like having a pocket for my PDA and cell phone. The tote is nice looking too which is an added bonus.
My husband gave me the tote for my birthday. I wore same to the Tony Bennet Concert in Bethel N.Y. and received compliments by at least five patrons its appearance is outstanding the comfort in carrying and shoulder use is wonderful and inside the bag has plenty of room and pockets I would recommend this tote bag it is a winner.
I found that there were several problems with this bag. I purchased this as an alternative to a brief case/purse that could also be used for travel. I used it daily for less than two months carrying legal size folders and other items that I would have for work and the seam on one of the handles began to come apart exposing the cotton cording within. I returned the bag for a credit and so far am happy with L.L. Bean's return policy. I also found that the bag even when empty was quite heavy and when full it really was not a comfortable weight. Finally, I found that the handles were just too short for me to be able to use them comfortably on my shoulder. The act of swinging the bag onto my shoulder was always awkward.
