I was looking for a back carry, smallish, slightly dressy bag to use for grown up events. But the weight of this bag, plus its largeness makes it too unwieldly for this purpose. Too stiff, too heavy, too big.
For some reason LLbean put me on this bag instead of the leather rucksack. I got the brown rucksack and the quality of the leather is not of LLbean standard. It is very cheaply made and the clasp is very hard to snap. So far the strap has not fallen off and hope it does not. I love LLbean and there items but think that it could be made alot better. I hate carrying purses and love the rucksacks. There def. is alot of room in this bag but it needs to be made alot better!!!!! If they changed the clasp like there other rugsack with the animals on it and changed the strap like that one also it would be a GREAT BAG!
I bought this rucksack and the strap broke after the first day of use. LL Bean refunded my money and I ordered another one. The strap broke again on the 2nd bag after only one day. I received a refund again. The bag was not overloaded either time. It's a great looking bag but the strap problem needs to be corrected.
Also, extremely disappointed with product. I am extremely gentle with the product, it is never overloaded because I like to keep things as light and as simple as possible. The straps are defective because of the way they are sewn to the bag creating a weak link. Unless the design is changed the straps will continue to break.
