very disappointed in toddler pants. My son needs the adjustable waist and am not sure why the little boys sizes come with adjustable waist but not toddlers. I love everything I have purchased from LL Bean, but dissappointed I cant order pants for my toddler . I aggree w comments from another writer. I had purchased 12 to 18 mo pants for my son and they fell off.
Our 20 month old granddaughter is 27 lbs - larger than average for her age. At size 2T (which is what she usually wears) the length on these jeans is perfect without cuffing. However, the waist and rear are disproportionally enormous. If the manufacturers were trying to allow for diaper space, it would require at least 3 diapers to fill these. The addition of long underwear as an added layer did nothing to compensate.
Our little guy is 3 and small for his age. We expect 3T to run a little large. Needless to say, we pulled these jeans on him and they fell to the floor in the first second. But the 2Ts are too short for him.
There is no belting the waist, because it simply bunches and the rear balloons out. These jeans would be far, far better if they had the adjustable waistband common in toddler jeans.
We were so looking forward to them and are disappointed to have to return them.
I bought these pants (carnation plaid) for my daughter and, sadly, will be returning them, but I am sure a lot of parents will find them perfect. Personally I didn't like their style/fit, as I was hoping for straight-leg jeans (boot cut would be even better) and these turned out to be relaxed fit, baggy in thighs and hips, which is ok for infants but not a great style for toddler girls. Also, they are made out of light-weight denim and lined with light flannel. We don't have snow here, but even so these pants won't be as warm as we'd like them to be. I have ordered a different pair of fleece-lined knit pants from LL Bean, which are just perfect, and we'll use them instead of lined jeans this season.
