My shoulder bag arrived two days ago. It is just as I expected it to be...good looking, nicely monogrammed, with that sunwashed look. The size is perfect, with enough zippered compartments and can be worn cross-wise for security. Wonderful wide strap for comfort. In 2009 I purchased the sunwashed Rangley Day Pack with embroidered moose on it (in British khaki). I have carried that backpack purse for three years...daily. (I hate changing purses!) It does not have ONE unraveled stitch anywhere, and the embroidered moose are in perfect condition. I use a little leather balm once in a while and it makes the leather look new. I know this new bag, made of the same canvas, will be just as durable and long lasting.
LLBean - if you don't bring back those daypacks, how about offering this shoulder bag with embroidered moose, fox, giraffe or some other cute wild animals. Such detailing makes the purse unique and just too cute. I get lots of compliments on those embroidered moose. I will still carry that backpack purse...I love it too much. My shoulder bag will be used for traveling.
It is another great LLBean product and very reasonably priced for the type purse. Though I ordered it monogrammed, LLBean said if I didn't like the purse, I could return it! That is an offer too good to pass up. The purse is a keeper LLBean!

Finally I found a bag which I consider an all-around winner! LLBean's canvas shoulder bag........ Beautifully made, utterly sturdy, roomy with several zippered compartments and a compartment in the back for tickets, mail etc. which is accessible from the outside, buckle is decorative and easy to manipulate and last but not least: a beautiful and WIDE shoulderstrap, which lies flat and does not cut into my shoulder like so many other bags you see around. I wear my bag cross-body style as I like my belongings in front of me as opposed to the back and that is why I proclaim this bag also extremely SAFE, which is important when you travel and need to be aware of pick pockets and bag snatchers. I am 5'8" and the strap is ample, letting the bag hang about hip height, which is just perfect for walking as any longer length may interfere with a comfortable stride. A great security feature are all the zippered compartments, which, when the bag is accidentally dropped, keep everything inside in its place. My bag holds all I need to carry and more: my (large) wallet, my notebook, passport if I travel, a few cosmetic items, keys, dog treats (very important), my (smaller)water bottle and my foldable shopping bags. The canvas is sturdy, yet handsome and the decorative "leather" trim makes the bag stand out and more elegant than just any other, ordinairy cloth bag. Love the color: British khaki, which goes with just about everything and I am ordering another one in the Sand dune color. I would not change anything about this bag, it is just perfect, not too large and bulky, not too small and insignificant, easily spot-cleaned and "Golden Retriever proof" as my dogs already have retrieved it all without any damage. Did I forget to mention the key-guard in the front pocket? Very handy and very much an appreciated detail! Thank you LL Bean for this thoughtfully and intelligently designed shoulder bag; I use it every day!
