I love this bag, this is my second one. It holds all of my stuff every day, it's a great material so I don't have to worry about hurting it when I throw it in the car, or on the table. I'm short enough that I can use it as a cross body also which helps on trips! It lasts forever too, my last bag I had for about 6 years before I had to get a new one and only because it had some stains I couldn't get off.
I like this bag, but wish it had more outside pockets for cell phone, etc. I am using it as a handbag and I find that the fold-over flap is a bit clumsy when trying to find things. Also it blocks one of the outside pockets, which I use a lot. Overall it is good quality, but not dressy. Also wish the strap was a bit skinnier.
I searched everywhere for the perfect crossbody bag for my trip to Paris. I wanted something between a purse and a messenger bag, and this was it. It held my wallet, sunglasses and glasses cases, phone, keys, digital SLR, guidebook, and map. It was easy to get the camera in and out and the bag doesn't scream "expensive camera inside!" The guidebook and map tucked into the back pocket for easy access. The flap over zipper (with another zipper pocket inside) makes it tough to pickpocket in crowded trains and mobbed museums. It was always comfortable even when loaded down. I will travel with this bag again. Two negatives: if you buckle the strap on the first hole, the strap will come undone and the purse will fall to the ground. Secondly, I ordered the olive color and it has that "army surplus" look -- a little too casual for Paris (I saw another woman carrying this bag at Versailles and I must say the statement it makes is "practical American!"). This bag would be awesome in leather -- keep the capacious design, but with a more sophisticated look.
I adore my new LLBean canvas pocketbook. It is durable, but soft and lightweight. It has lots of space in a compact design. It is so easy to find all my many carryable needs. The buckle-snap clip closure is also easy to pop open and then secure close again. I love this bag. I wish they offered it in many different sizes. (For travel purposes.) Very satisfied with this purchase!
