Very well made bag. Very affordable. I have the messenger bag, however sometimes it's too big, so I bought the shoulder bag. It's great, holds everything I need!
I bought one of these in brown five or six years ago. I kept coming back to it because it's design is so much better than the usual purse. The zippered compartments keep everything organized and secure, and it is very roomy.
The colors are lighter than they look online. I have mine in brown and it's always been more faded than the picture, but I didn't mind that. It has worn extremely well. There are no rips or blemishes in the canvas or leather after all these years of hard use. My only complaint is the belt-buckle strap. After a few years, the leather holds become too big, and the strap won't stay fastened. It was constantly coming undone and falling off my shoulder, so I had to stop using it.
I replaced it with a healthy backpack purse in small green sunwashed canvas because of a back injury. I love this other purse. I still like the look of the shoulder bag, though, and would recommend it as a very good, durable everyday purse. Things did tend to get lost in the bottom of the shoulder bag, though, and I don't think that's going to be a problem with the teardrop design of the healthy backpack with all its myriad pockets. In my experience, LL Bean makes extremely good bags, very practical and secure. I keep coming back to them, and they wear for years and years.
This is my second purchase of this bag... just got a different color. I ruined the original bag, which was 6 years old, in a fall on the ice (it got partly thawed mud all over it). I liked the bag so much I wanted to replace it with the same model. It's a perfect size, love the interior and exterior pockets, the top zip keeps everything secure.
I like this bag very much. It is super roomy and allows for a bit of organization with an inside zip poket, an outer zip pocket (under the flap) and an outside pocket secured by velcro. The strap is wide and sturdy and the canvas material is rugged, of the type that will last a very long time. The flap is a bit annoying, however, but not enough for me to really complain. I think I will be using this practical, attractive and sturdy bag for many years.
