I was disappointed with the bag. The canvas is heavy enough but the color was a lot more washed out than in the picture and the leather was not the same color as in the catalog and was not the quality I was expecting. I'll use it because it would probably be too much of a hassle to return it but it doesn't come up to what I expect from LL Bean.
This is the third canvas shoulder bag I have bought. I used a British khaki color for years (until it showed signs of wear but still had not torn!), bought a brown one for use now, and ordered one to be held in reserve. I like the fact that it expands to hold whatever I need to store in it--camera, bills, two pairs of glasses, a billfold, keys (in side pocket), lock for the gym, etc. I could not do without it.
But some of the seams have come undone on the strap. But, really like the bag otherwise. Purchased for traveling and definitely fits journals, pens, sunglasses and guidebooks with convenient pockets. If not for the seams, would have given this 4 stars.
Great bag, perfect sized purse for daily use. It's durable and easy to keep to clean, which comes in handy at the pottery studio. Monogramming adds a nice touch, too. The leather ages nicely, as well.
