Bean says "years of daily use". My experience is two years of occasional use and the buckle fell off someplace in transit (have no idea where). This isn't my idea of quality construction. I'm sending it back per their guarantee.
the bag was very nice but it wasn't what i needed. It was too small to put magazines and a jacket in and that's what i need for air travel. I sent it back.
I am enjoying the Sunwashed Canvas Shoulder bag! It is light-weight yet tough. I did, however, remove the velcro closure on the outside pouch-didn't seem necessary, and I don't like velcro scratching the back of my hand in pockets, on bags or clothing. The leather is soft and durable. I suggest coating with a stain preventer if you are going to use it lots-like I do!!
I've had this purse for over four (4) years now. It's my travel purse. It's been to Sweden, Portugal, Costa Rica, and Brazil. It's also been to New York, Seattle, San Fransisco..you get the idea. I love it because I can stuff it with anything I need. When we are out, I've got the camera, travel books, bottled water, rain jacket, etc. On the plane, I use it to store my makeup, extra reading books, glasses.. all the stuff you don't want to put in your check in.
Basically, it has a lot of storage. I do at times forget which pocket I put something in and I am digging around for it, but at the same time, I love that I can separate things. The latch in front slips out without much resistance, but maybe that has been fixed in newer models.
As a travel purse I love it. As an everyday purse.. it's a little to big for me.
