I bought this for travel and it works perfectly. I also use it for running errands around town. It is my go to bag when I need something sporty and casual.
I've been looking for a smallish, practical bag to use in place of a purse. I prefer cross body bags that aren't super crazy looking, but most of all, I look for quality and practicality. The ~2 weeks that I've had this bag for have proven to me that this is the perfect bag for me! It's perfect for use in the wilderness, on trips, airplane rides, or just shopping around! My oldest brother had this exact same bag, actually, and he was the one who recommended it to me. He has had his bag for over 6 years and the ONLY thing that has happened in that bag was a small hole on the bottom corner seam, something that is EASILY fixable! I should mention that he has and will (he's in the Air Force) travel(ed) a lot, so the promise of quality made by L.L.Bean has clearly rang true! My brother and I definitely recommend this bag!!
I chose this bag to hold all the stuff I carry when I walk and exercise my dog, and it's perfect for that, with several different compartments, including one for water bottle, and another for the throw toys and balls, and another for keys, treats, and baggies. The strap is long enough to hold it cross-body, which is good if you don't like shoulder bags that slide off your shoulder.
