I wanted this bag ever since I purchased one for my daughter when she was in the 10th grade. She is graduating from college this year and she still uses it for everything. I bought one for myself last fall for traveling and it is wonderful. Not only does it look great, but it is incredibly durable, roomy and easy to carry. The more weathered it gets the better it looks. I've been shopping with LL Bean for years and this is just one more reason to continue!
This bag is attractive and durable, like everything from LL Bean. My husband wanted a bag for work that is large enough for gym clothes, but not too big, and with pockets for what he needs, but not in excess. This bag just barely fits two gym shoes, shorts and a t-shirt, a couple of file folders and a small book, wallet, cell phone, and lunch if it is not in an insulated bag. A tiny bit more room would have been ideal for his purposes, but this works. I have to assume the reviews recommending this as a carry-on bag for travel are using it only for books, papers, and laptops - it would not fit a change of clothes and toiletries.
The messenger bag is just the right size to fit all document and books. Quality is pretty good especially the handle strap that can be adjustable and comfortable.
I've had this bag a couple of weeks now and it's been well worth what I paid for it. It's good quality, well made, and reasonably priced. It's my first bag from L.L. Bean and because of this experience I'd buy another.
