What a great roomy bag! I can fit a to go knitting project, a book to read while I'm waiting, camera, exercise stuff, every day essentials without having to lug all kinds of bags. The shoulder strap doesn't fall off my arm. There's a neat discrete little tag on inside for ID info plus I had my first name embroidered on the outside. It's a tough bag that I don"t have to "be careful with"
I seldom write product reviews, but this bag is so wonderful I just couln't resist. I am a 56 year old woman who just returned to college, which is a big adjustment on many levels. But the hardest thing of all was carrying around the heavy books all day...until I got this bag. It is a perfect size and shape. Very sturdy and well made. The thing I like the best about it is that it holds it's shape even when you have nothing or just a few things in it. It doesn't collapse in on itself. And you can tell it's going to last forever. I would agree with the other reviews that an inside pocket for pens would be a nice addition. Thanks for another great product, LL bean!
I bought this bag for school and it's perfect. I wanted a bag that would be as suitable for vacation as it would be for walking around campus, and this is definitely it. It looks great and has just enough detailing to make it timeless and cool, and it's very well made (like everything on llbean). As other reviewers have said, the strap is comfortable even when the bag is heavy. I left the strap buckle at the middle hole and that's a good length for me. I'm 5'9 and the top of the bag hits right at my hip bone. If I had to complain about one thing, I would say that the velcro on the side pockets is practically ironclad, but I guess that also makes it more secure. Overall, I think it's a great buy, priced perfectly and I'll be buying another for my husband in the near future.
I was pleasantly suprised to find that there are also pockets on the front and back of the bag, and one inside. The main compartment has plenty of room for my binder, lunch, lab manual, and a book. I think the industrial-strength velcro on the side pockets is a bit excessive for everyday use. Other than that, it's attractive, comfortable to carry, and well-made.
