The bag is of a good quality and feels good when slung over my shoulder. it spreads the weight well over my shoulder. My only disappointment is that it is too small for me to carry my computer, flash drives, notebook and files in. I am a teacher and had hoped to replace my rolling book bag with this bag. I am using it for my bag to carry my grad school stuff in and it is working well for that. Other than that it is a great bag. I hope that L.L. Bean will make a larger version of this bag as I would buy one for use at school.
I was apprehensive at first about buying the bag due to the "short strap" mentioned in the reviews prior to mine. Especially since winter is in full-force and I'm dressed in heavy, puffy clothing. Well, I'm also short so I think that helps because the strap is plenty long for me! I love the bag and hope Bean's doesn't stop making it in case this one dies in a few years!
I recently got this bag for school and i love it! It has a nice strap,but sadly got bent and is now hard to latch, that keeps it shut securely. The back pocket on this could be nice but i don't need it very much. the front zipper pocket is nice and good for extra storage space. The big one pocket fits a lot of supplies and there's a hidden zipper pocket that's great for keeping pencils and extremely versatile. i recommend this bag for anyone.
I have been searching and searching for a bag just like this.......I wanted a canvas bag that was durable, which this bag is. I bought the dusty olive and I LOVE IT. The only thing I do wish is that the strap was a bit longer....I put the bag over my shoulder and w/ the thick winter coats I'm wearing right now, I feel a bit snug. There is plenty of room and great side pockets! I definately recommend this bag.
