I just received my bag and I love it! As a guy (60) I'm always looking for the perfect airplane carry-on. I only carry-on the minimum and have used a backpack in the past but I'm tired of the backpack look and I think this bag will be perfect. I'll follow up later after my first trip and let you know. A couple of suggestions: I'm six-feet tall and the strap is a little short for me. Also, it would have been nice to include a strap pad on the strap for extra cushion.
This bag is so versatile. I've used it for a number of road trips and as a carry on bag twice. I can fit a small purse inside the bag along with other essentials.....books, kids toys, snacks, etc. It's a great overnight bag and even a beach bag. I love the zippered compartments, too. This bag is also very comfortable to wear (even when it's packed full!) The strap doesn't dig into my shoulders like other bags. Excellent quality and durable.
I got this bag for xmas a few years ago and didn't use it much, as I am a die-hard messenger bag person. But I was traveling in Europe and wanted something that would be functional but less college-student-ish, so I took this along. On the whole, I think it's a good bag. It has enough pockets to keep stuff organized but not so many that you waste time wondering what's in every pocket. My one objection to the bag is that the strap is too long. It is made of canvas but as it approaches the buckle it becomes leather. I have it buckled at the closest notch and it is as long as I'd like it. At one point I wanted it shorter so I could hook it over the handles of my child's stroller, but it dragged. I am 5'6" so I would wonder if shorter people would like this even less. The latch attachment that closes the cover is good. I felt better walking through cities knowing my bag would be fairly cumbersome to pickpockets.
I got this originally because I fell in love with the purple floral print of the material. Unfortunatly, that color has been discontinued. This bag is the perfect back-up diaper bag for the car. PLENTY of room for an entire out fit (pants, shorts, socks, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt), spare diapers/wipes, emegency baby's & mommy's acetominophen, etc. The side pockets are great for keeping the smaller, easier to lose items safe. The interior zippered compartment is great for separating food jars from the clothes. If I ever forget anything from my regular diaper bag (which is the LLB Sunwashed Canvas Tote), I'm confident in knowing that I have a pretty great messenger bag holding all of the essentials.
