The cotton is quite soft, the fit is comfortable but not loose...there's not much more I can say about this other than I'm going to start buying it in all the colors! One note, it may run larger than you're used to - I usually wear larges, but I had to return this for a medium. However, given LL Bean's exceptional return policy, that was no trouble.
While the measurements and fabric of this tee are exactly right, the sewing is a deal breaker. The shoulder seems are reenforced with stitching at the point where they meet the collar. The effect is one in which the wearer appears to have two bumps on either side of his neck. It is really a shame, because I would love to be able to buy a dozen of these tees and short sleeve versions as well. But, what's the point if you are always conscious of two flaws that are instantly attention-getting. Too bad, everything else about the product is first rate.
