Workmanship - Zippers are made of cheap plastic and do not work as they should. Pockets are placed and designed uselessly, one of the examples is cellphone pocket. Thread color is slightly different from coat color and makes it looks unprofessionally designed. Outer shell materials feel cheap and rugged. The hood is not insulated. I just received and tried out for two days. I am definitely returning it. The poor quality of this coat made me write my first review. This coast should be sold under $150.
Just recived my new Maine Warden's coat. More than one problem plenty of pockets, just can't find the ones I'll be using. Why should I need to practice with the zipper. It takes 3 tryes to zip the coat, I'm still thinking of returning it. Not your best work LL.
Layers, everyone says that layers are the way to stay warm in winter. For that reason the outer layer, such as this coat should be sized larger. This coat is only good for a one layer outfit. It has many nice qualities but can't be used as the outer layer for extreme cold, unless (see next sentence)
If you are going to order this item, make sure you size up; ie, if you are a medium order at least a large!
This is the third Warden's Parka I have owned over the years, and I found this one to be the best. Subtle improvements are well thought out. Removable liner is a great feature. It is very warm, yet it is easy to regulate the temperature. I've been able to control my temperature even while X-country skiing.
In the beginning, the zipper was a bit finicky, but after some use, it is now fine. The outer shell to very tough - easily as tough as my military EWACS parka.
