It's better than I thought it would be. It fits very well and at the same time it allows for freedom of movement. I was pleased to find the external pockets are zippered. It's light as well as very warm. I'm very happy with it.
I have been receiving compliments on the cheerful raspberry color, too.
I went to the LL Bean store to purchase this coat after reading good reviews about it on line. I was very disappointed with this coat. Firstly, the double zipper kept getting jammed every time I used it. It is so lightweight, that is is not even warm. Every time I wore it, I was cold in the coat. The pockets were not even deep enough to stuff a pair of gloves in it. I had hoped that LL Bean would make a better and warmer coat. I ended up returning this coat to the store.
This coat has all the essentials; warmth, nice style, attractive colors, and of course, the LL quality we all admire.
Unfortunately, the fit is poor... and very disappointing for LL Bean. The sleeves are unusually short, and the knit inner cuffs are even more uncomforatble and limit range of motion. In order to get the aprropriate sleeve length, I had to go up a size, which was too big in the body. This coat is going to be returned, for the second time, due to poor fit. Very disappointing!
Love this coat. i'm 5'5" so this coat falls just above my knees, perfect length for deep winters at 9000' elevation in the Colorado Rockies. It slips on easily and is "feather light" on. After 3 winters' wear i can vouch for the excellent construction and features; everything continues to perform well. This coat always keeps me warm. The furry hood keeps snow at bay during blizzards and helps deflect snow glare on sunny days. This is my first lady-styled down coat (in periwinkle blue) and it's really as close as you can get to perfection!
