This is a great coat. I love the fact that it is warm without being bulky. I purchased the chocolate brown and it is a rich, pretty color. I've worn it to church, to work, ice skating and sledding--perfect at all these events! The coat is roomy (quite big around the middle for me), but fortunately it doesn't "look big" and there is plenty of room for a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. I like the knee length as it keeps my hips and upper legs warmer than a standard-length jacket. The only negative is the faux fur on the hood--it is VERY faux and (in my opinion) looks cheap. Fortunately, it zips off! Great coat for the price!
I got this coat for my wife this year after missing out on it last year. She loves it! The coat is very warm and fits well even with a few layers underneath. Not quite as shapely as I expected, as one reviewer mentioned (we got the petite small). Overall great buy.
Very happy with this coat for the Buffalo winter. It is lightweight and super warm. When the wind blows, I pull up the hood and am totally insulated. The only thing i would change is to have the inside pocket be accessbile with a zipper from the outside. I keep my cell phone in that inner pocket and have to unzip the whole coat to access it. Deeper pockets to fit bulky gloves would also be an improvement. But still happy with its warmth as it is.
I recently bought and returned a similar coat from L.L.Bean because it was an odd shape.I then ordered this one. I walk my dogs every day in the park,almost without fail.Delaware can have some nasty cold weather even if it's not below freezing very often.But 28 degrees on a windy day can be very intimidating. I have worn this coat every day. It's been in the '20's at nite and '30's daytime. Perfect for me in every way--light weight, comfortable, wonderful pockets, including an inside zipper where I keep my phone and driver's lic. etc. when walking my puppies. I did not like the confining hood until I needed it one day. Then, I loved it!!!!! For those who complain about their cold weather and that this coat doesn't work for them, I have only this to say. Are you wearing layers, as necessary, depending on weather conditions.?????? No it's not for the Antarctic, but we aren't there. Layers, girls, layers!!! And as a final comment, I wore this coat for a couple weeks and then one day, when it was warmer, I put on my L.L.Bean jacket that I bought 3 winters ago, and behold!!!!! it was the same as my coat, only the jacket version. And btw, I am short so this 3/4 version coat hits me just below the knee. Perfect. Thanks,L.L.Bean, as usual.
