I love this coat! Yes, I live in California. And true, we don't get much of a winter here. But Californians are spoiled. When the temperature dips below 55 degrees, we start shivering like there's a blizzard outside. It does get pretty frigid though, sometimes into the 30's and 40's. And working retail, around Christmas I get out of work at 11 or 12 at night. This coat is a lifesaver! I hate being cold, but sometimes I actually wish for cold weather so that I can wear this coat! It's comfortable, and I think my favorite feature is the fleece cuffs inside of the arm holes. They keep the cold out but are not too tight! This is a great coat and I hope those who purchase it enjoy it too!
I haven't bought a coat in a long time. I also work in fashion in NYC for a specialty retailer so am VERY picky about the fit and function of anything I buy. I walked into the LL Bean store with a friend of mine and we both ended up buying this coat! It is warm and lightweight and I have already gotten several compliments on it. People alway associate LL Bean with barn coats so this was such a great find and is a great item for a younger and urban customer.
I will say that I usually wear a small or medium other places but ended up in an XS Petite in this coat. If you can try it on before buying that is probably ideal.
I have wanted this coat for a long time! I finally ordered it and not only do I love it but I have already received many compliments on it! Today it snowed for the first time and I was totally warm and protected in this jacket. The hood with velcro closure kept the snow out of my eyes and face. I was so happy to have this jacket today! The coat is very comfortable and roomy. I have even worn a mid weight fleece under it without feeling confined or bulky. I was pleasantly surprised to find the fleece cuffs! Love the extra coverage at the wrists! I am so happy with this coat. Can't say enough!
I bought a coat very similar to this last year in blue and really liked the coat -- it was light, but very warm and comfortable (unfortunately it was recently stolen) so I bought a replacement in Dark Raspberry. The dark raspberry is lighter than shown in the picture - more of a fuchsia color (see the Dark Raspberry for the "Goose Down Hooded Parka) -- not something I would wear.
