As light weight as this coat is - and it is surprisingly light weight - it is luxuriously warm and comfortable to wear. Really well designed too - they have thought of everything from the fleece lined outer pockets to the little pockets inside; the fitted elasticized cuffs that are hidden in the sleeve; the two-way zipper; the velcro closure on the neck...I could go on! The sizing is spot on. As a size 10 I still have plenty of wiggle room to layer underneath if need be, but it hardly seems necessary when this coat keeps me so toasty warm.

I was so impressed by the warmth and roominess of this coat. The color is really nice too, raspberry. Only minor negative, the hood is rather big, but it can be removed if needed.
I looked at the reviews generally stating the coat ran large. I wear a size 8. Medium did fit, but not comfortably and I had to get a large. I use the pockets constantly so I won't have to carry purse so maybe that makes a difference. The coat is warm, but not the warmest; it was 9 in Chicago today and I still could feel the cold. The length is perfect; sleeves are great with the insert to prevent the wind from coming through the arms. I contemplated the purchase for 2 years and when I saw 20% off; I had to buy it. I hope this coat lives up to the quality I expect from LL Bean.

This coat is great. I have no hesitation recommending it. I tried two different coats from a competitor and returned those. I needed a coat to wear while commuting to/from the city each day. This coat is very warm, lightweight and comfortable. I am 5’4”, 135lbs and a size 8. I ordered a Medium in the Regular fit and it’s perfect. I can wear it with a light layer underneath (and am warm enough) and have room to wear it with a sweater as well.
My only criticism is that it’s not super stylish. I was hoping to find a jacket like this with a belt that was a little fitted. This isn’t fitted, and since I got mine in the white I was concerned I would look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man… its fine, but I can see how that could happen easily in white... Again, great coat.
