I love these coats; they are lightweight, yet warm, and are a good fit. I had bought the hip length jacket, and loved it so much I decided to go with the the 3/4 length for those frigid days.

I think this coat is alright. Honestly it's nothing special just a good warm coat. The fit is great, LL Bean is very consistent with their sizing so I ordered an M and got what I expected. I am 5'8" 140 lbs and I have long arms, which gives me trouble finding stuff to fit but there is enough length in the arms of this coat. I really am comfortable when I wear this coat in the cold MI weather, especially after just moving here from California. If I could do something to the jacket to make it better I would add a fleece lining to the inside of the collar because the inside of the collar around the neck is the same material as the rest of the jacket so there is no instant warmth against my skinny neck.. lacks that "cozy" feeling. This coat is much more comfortable when I add wearing a scarf with it, which I wish I didn't have to. Oh and as other reviewers said, the berry color is more pink... doesn't bother me but the color is much lighter than the picture appears on our computers for whatever reason.
We have returned this coat. I bought this coat in Dark Rasberry for my college age daughter to wear. She has a slim curvy figure and this coat just hung on her. It is a straight line from top to bottom with no way to draw in the waist or give it any form. She is a size 6, and the small was okay for length (no extra in the arms!) and around her hips, but it just gaped everywhere else. This is light in weight, lofty with down, seems a nice length, and looks like it would be warm IF it were tailored to follow a woman's curves or at least could be belted or cinched in. This is not just a matter of it not being flattering; the gaping air space between body and coat will make it drafty and not warm at all for a curvy thinner person. Also the dark rasberry looked more fusia to us; pinker than she wanted and not true to the catalog photo on line.
Keeps me warm with a sweater or jacket underneath when in the teens and below. When in the 40's, no layering needed. Hood really keeps head warm. Don't know how it will wash nor if it really needs to be put in a dryer. Could use another inside pocket as the outside pockets are not too deep. Afraid keys or wallet would fall out.
