This coat blocks the wind amazingly and makes me feel like I am snuggled up in my sleeping bag. The fur on the hood blocks my view but I know it will prove useful when I am down at the lake and the wind is whipping ice crystals across my face. The interior pockets are quite useful too. I can't wait to see how it performs when it really gets cold. Not very flattering due to the boxy cut, but practical none the less. Practical counts way more.

I live in Northern Ontario Canada. This is the best coat i have had for years (and best value) that keeps me warm on my winter walks. It is lightweight, warm, and comfortable. I have recommended it to many people--and many of my friends have asked me where I got it from as it fits so nicely.The hood looks very attractive when not in use, and when in use is ultra warm. You simply can't do better when looking for a warm winter coat. I am buying another one as I certainly do not want to be without this where we live.

I highly recommend this coat for anyone who wants one that is warm, but lightweight. I particularly like the fit. It is nicely styled but generous - roomy with a sweater. Perfect for me!
This coat is supposed to be warm down to -40, and perhaps it is -- when the air is perfectly still. The first time I wore it, the thermometer read about -2 Celsius (28F), but the wind was blowing 33 KMH, with stronger gusts, and though I was not exactly cold I could feel the wind eating my body heat in a walk of about 4 blocks each way. Also, the sleeves are so tight at the wrist that my light-weight leather gloves would not fit either inside or outside -- my warmer gloves and mittens (for -40) wouldn't work at all. So if you live in a place with real winter weather, this coat will do fine, but only between indoors and car, or in sheltered places, or on calm days. I suggest some re-shaping of sleeves to accommodate mitts.
