After reading all the reviews and knowing the reputation of LLBean I thought that ordering this coat for Minnesota winters would be a no-brainer. I got the coat and was so disappointed to feel that it is not nearly as warm as I thought it would be. The down is very thin, especially in the sleeves. It was only in the 30s and I felt cold air coming through. Just so you are all aware, there is no lining on the inside--- It is the same kind of material as the outside. Also, something to be aware of, the middle section of this coat is awfully wide.

So glad I bought this coat. It's so warm without being heavy to wear. Runs true to size and plenty enough room to also wear sweaters underneath. Doing a great job keeping me warm in chilly Northeastern Vermont wind and cold. The raspberry color is a lovely, deep, rich color. Hood comes in handy as well. Just a great buy. Thanks LL Bean!
I bought it because she is a college student in Albany and the winters there are bitter. I wanted a coat that would keep her warm and cover her hips, she wanted a coat that would be stylish. This coat achieved both goals at the same time. She tells me it's super light and keeps her really toasty! Mother and daughter are happy!
