Thank you, L.L. Bean, for such a fabulous coat! Not only did it arrive in plenty of time for the surprise 15 inches of snow we got on October 30, but it is extremely warm, comfortable, and practical. The fur on the hood cuts the wind and keeps falling snow off your face, the length keeps your body warm, and it's even machine washable!
This is going to be a go-to coat for me, I think - so easy to throw on and be toasty warm and comfortable. I think (?) it looks quite good too. Position of the inner sleeve cuffs could be very slightly lower (towards the hands), but are OK.
I received this coat one week prior to this year's record-breaking October snow storm in CT. Coat fit well and allowed a sweatshirt underneath. The wet snow did not absorb into the fabric and I was kept warm. I love the fact that the fur on the hood can be taken off as well as the way the hood fits. The fabric is soft and the loft is just right to me. Honestly, I ordered a different coat in the same size from another company at the same time and the LLBean coat is the one I will be keeping!
overall shape of garment was unappealing, Item returned in favor of Bean Goose Down hooded parka.. which I wore last year and was so light weight and warm..so I ordered it in another color
