i bought this coat last winter and came back for a second one in a different color . best winter coat ever..its light on the body but extremely warm in frigid weather..and unlike many other more bulky coats this one is actually slimming . how great is that..light ,warm and flattering ....cant do better than that...

I purchased this jacket to replace a shorter goose-down jacket that I wore on an everyday basis for over 15 years. As I already have the full length version which is super warm, I did not hesitate to buy the 3/4 length version for daily use. At 5'6", 165 lbs, I got the 14XL - prefer a roomier coat to allow for extra sweater/suit jacket - it seems the older I get, the colder I get, lol. Probably a Large would have been OK, but I like the option. The outer material rejects dirt and stains, pockets are roomy and is easy to zip up. Don't particularly like the faux trim on the hood, but it's easily removed. I highly recommend this jacket.
I was really nervous about ordering this...I am 5'9 and am on the heavy side and have constant problems of things being long enough in the body and sleeves. I ordered an XL and definitly have room to spare. Sleeves come down into my palms, could even shrink a bit in the wash. Got the periwinkle blue, looks more blue in the pics, is definitly to the purple side, which I like. Seems very thin, though. I'm hoping it surprises me in warmth, still have a couple of months before the cold hits, and I live in Winnipeg, Canada, so can't wait to give it a good test! Will keep y'all posted as to warmth and durability in the coming months!

Ordered the Med petite in black........the coat fits great and being 5' tall comes just slightly above my knees. Am 130 lbs with a 36C bust and the coat still fits fine even with a sweater or sweatshirt on. Gives a slimming effect......is not puffy or bulky like some down coats can be. Can't attest to the warmth as it is only September but I'm sure it will be warm come winter time.
Very nicely made and I think it will hold up over the years. Love the inside knit cuffs on the sleeves, the zippered pockets, love that the hood is adjustable, and love, love that it is machine wash and dry.
It is a great coat....think maybe order you usual size and you will be happy. And if not LLBean makes exchanges or refunds quite easy.
